ALGER LAKES AND KOIP PEAK PASS

The pictures in this section are a brief glimpse of an area consisting of a high mountain pass and a group of 3 lakes just outside the park.  You can reach this area only by hiking about 12 miles from the nearest road over 2 mountain passes.  This normally windy set of lakes provides spectacular views along with the occasional dust storm.  The Mono Pass trailhead is the closest starting point within Yosemite National Park to get to this destination.
