The pictures in this section were taken mostly in the summer of 2001, but they are indicative of what to expect when traveling to Yosemite in June, July and August. The pictures in this section will show you the beautiful wildflowers, pristine lakes and the magnificence Tuolomne Meadows at its peak of splendor. The summer of 2005 is very different due to a much higher snow pack than usual, so many of the places you see in these photos are still covered in snow in July 2005.
All of the High Sierra Camps are closed this summer due to the enormous snowpack, only the one in Tuolomne Meadows will be open. Many campgrounds will not open this year, so make sure you check with the National Parks Service for hours and closures.
